I've been thinking of favas since we spoke about them at exercise class. I really do want to come try something you've made with favas and long overdue chit chat.
We love them too and usually try to have houseguests around this time of year to help with shucking chores since we prefer the double shuck. Usually those guests are my sisters which gives me an opportunity to hang out and do nothing but chitchat and shuck. And cook and eat of course. They also freeze really well if you have too many, which we always do. A good problem to have.
I love them too but have found the lazy best way to cook them. Olive oil and salt and put them under the grill untill soft and slightly charred. and I mean the WHOLE bean, shell and all. (You can eat much of the shell too. )
I can't wait to try this! Is it too late to plant them now? Where should I get the seeds? Where are the links for us lazy imposter farmers?
Guess I need to do a follow-up piece real soon, eh?
Did you watch The Biggest Little Farm?
no....TV? or...?
The doc I told you to watch on Amazon prime
Yum. 😊
I've never had fava beans- I feel like I'm missing out now!
Amy, can you get them where you are?
Maybe? I’ve never looked for them!

This year we hope to have enough to freeze! Normally manage to eat all we grow.
Fava beans are one of my favorites too… my acupuncturist once told me they are excellent for the lungs. They kind of look like a tiny lung 🤣!
They do

And love your recipe too!
Excellent lazy and yummy idea!
I love this piece! The flow, the tickling of the senses, the free flowing recipe, the lead character (beloved fava beans), and the author.
That pasta looks amazing 🤩
